Laura Pausini was born on May 16, 1974 in the town of Solarolo, located
in the well know Italian region of Emilia Romagna. Her romantic ballads and love songs became well known in Europe, Latin
America and the Middle East, thus making her one of the most famous Italian Pop singers in the world. Laura Pausini has not
only released six full length albums in Spanish, Portuguese, English and her native language Italian, but in total she has
also sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. The release of her most recent album “Primavera in anticipo”
(Early Spring) has already sold a successful 130,000 copies.
Laura Pausini has achieved fame by placing 1st in the 1993 Italian Song Festival
in San Remo and winning a World Music award in 1994. In 1995 she also won a Lo Nuestro award for her success in the Latin
Pop market in the United States. Pausini also received an I.F.P.I Platinum Europe award in 1996 and was nominated for four
Latin Grammys. To add to this list of accomplishments, she sang next to the most recognized opera singer Luciano Pavarotti
in 1999.
